This meet-up will explore how we can take beautiful portraits using natural light and backgrounds. We will explore how to recognise flattering light and how to manipulate it whilst shooting in a less controlled environment than a studio. We will explore how we can work collaboratively with our subject to achieve a portrait that captures their personality and style. We will also look at posing and setting your subject at ease. Technical learning points will include accurate focusing and metering for skin tones.

Your journal can become a personal record of your artistic journey throughout the year, but sharing is always optional. You are welcome to keep your pages private, share them with the host, or present them to the group if you feel inspired to do so.
• Some decorative and scrapbook materials will be provided, and you're welcome to bring stickers, papers, photos, or other elements to personalize your pages.
• Please bring your own watercolor supplies and a journal with watercolor-friendly paper (mixed media or cotton paper recommended).
